How To Be Authentic In Your Marketing

Now more than ever the health and well-being consumer is fed up with the false mis-leading promises that so many health related products and coaching programs make. So much so many consumers  have completely switched off to well known top sales tactics.

As a big consumer of health, spiritual and well-being products for about 27 years, and healer for 25 years who trained in many disciplines. I have seen both sides of the coin, I have been lucky to have witnessed and experienced great benefits of some products and treatments. But I have also seen many more with no or only a few percentage of a difference in things I invested a few months income on. I have seen this happen with so many of my clients who are offered various products and treatments that are supposed to cure everything, when in-fact the reality is usually they are only effective for specific types of issues.

Training schools more than ever are using heavy sales and marketing tactic that there modality heals and transforms everything just to get students to buy their training. Sadly students pay thousands as they think this a magical cure all, that will help finance the dream life they have always wanted. But with a few years down the line of experience they sadly realise they were duped and simply funding someone else’s dream life.

This is just one of the reasons why the more spiritual buyer is looking for authenticity, honestly and uniqueness. They want to know who they are buying from, they want and need a connection with you. They want to know you are being honest, frank and real. They want to know your experience, your credentials, your wisdom. On more than one occasion I have had someone with no knowledge, understanding of nutrition try sell me a nutritional product that will supposedly benefit my health and I have had to in-fact educate them what is actually in their product and what it might not be so great for.

I see so many young therapists who are in approximately the first five years of business still selling their product or services as something that fits all, cures or solves all. But sadly  they eventually come to the realisation that they have so much more to learn.

When a business basis itself on what they know they are great at, what all their testimonials clearly verify, that is where the businesses greatest strength and authenticity lies. But sadly so many businesses think  or feel pressurised they have to say it does this…that…because it sounds good, it might bring clients, it might make money. It is better to be able to do solve one symptom GREATLY and be recognised for that, than trying to be all solutions for all people and only help them a small percent.

Niching is one of the most effective business and marketing strategies you can choose in your business. It doesn’t mean you won’t attract other types of clients but your reputation will grow tremendously when you focus on being authentic, being you and offering your greatest gifts with your greatest products. When you focus on the those solutions that you know standing on your head you can help.

I nearly killed my own business for over 10 years by trying to marketing in a way that wasn’t authentic.  I thought that was the way I needed to market myself to sell my services. When in-fact I already attracted work that resonated with my greatest gifts. But I was so close to the situation and so bombarded with older way of marketing I couldn’t see it. I continued to market myself they way many top self help and business marketing tactics suggested until I started studying spiritual marketing strategies.

STOP trying to be someone else, STOP trying to sell like someone else, STOP trying to sell something you don’t know for sure can seriously help. Be authentic, be honest and it will speak volumes to your clients. These type of strong bonds will turn a potential audience to fans or customers forever.
