Practice Patience to Enjoy the Flow of Life

As I explore each of the seven mindful principles and what they mean in my life and the life of my clients, patience always is a significant factor in self-discovery, development, and evolution. The best analogy of patience I learned was in my Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) training. You can not rush a butterfly to emerge by opening the chrysalis. That butterfly must emerge in its own due time. All you can do is maintain an environment that supports its development.

Applying the above analogy to everyday living, if we choose to live mindfully aware of the present moment and observe how we are showing up at that moment, we can consciously choose patience when needed and allow any given situation to unfold in its own time. It takes practice to live this way and patience must be applied. Decide to exercise patience when needed, and you can enjoy a flow of life in the present moment!
