Getting you set up as an author on our blog and your articles published on WU is a member-exclusive benefit, and a great opportunity to get exposure, drive traffic to you and your call to action, and spread your message! 

The WU Featured Blog has millions of readers and every article is searchable online. We feature quality, trusted, content from our members and special guests in a full-length professionally formatted post! To uphold our good reputation, we do not publish articles that are written in a solely promotional nature for your product or service. 

All WU-featured articles are promoted by our social media team to nearly 1 million followers on publication day adding to your exposure, influence, and reach! 

You will have your own author profile, and this acts as another profile for you and your brand on the internet. This is in addition to your WU Profile!

I – GETTING SET-UP AS AN AUTHOR WITH YOUR AUTHOR PROFILE

Is this your First Article? 

Your Wellness Universe Profile must be filled out. Specifically, your About Me section. Your article WILL NOT be published if you have a blank member profile. Need assistance?  GO HERE

Short Bio for your Author Page 

A short Bio (maximum of 300 characters) is required with your first submission to set up your Author Profile. You will see a field in the below form to enter your bio. Your bio appears in the author box under your article and on your Author Profile page. We will not edit your bio or change it more than once a year, and only upon request. 

Your Author Profile Photo 

Every blog author requires a Gravatar, it’s essential. It is where your photo lives and appears on blogs you write for us. Do you need toCreate a Gravatar? You can do so here –  https://en.gravatar.com/

II –SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS
 Here is the information we will need to submit your article: 

Choose Your Article Type 

  • One-Off: Any article that stands alone, not part of series. 
  • A Series: ALL series must be approved so they can be scheduled appropriately. Email[email protected]if you have a series idea. 
  • 2-Part Series can be created from a long article or be two stand alone articles that relate to each other by topic (each article must be 1,000 words or more). Both articles are to be submitted at the same time via two separate submission forms. 
  • Long Series: 3 – 7 articles published consecutively, one per week or once per month. All articles must be submitted at the same time, each one on a separate submission form. 
  • Weekly Series: based on a topic or theme, the weekly series must be pre-approved. Please email us with your series idea prior to submission. 
  • Monthly Series: based on a topic or theme. A monthly series must be approved. Please email us with your series idea prior to submission. 
  • Core Blogger: Premier and Select members who wish to post monthly blogs are assigned a guaranteed publication slot and are featured on ourCore Bloggers page. Please email us for more information on becoming a Core Blogger. 

 **If you are joining us as a Core Blogger or have a pre-approved article, your submission must be received a minimum of 15 days before your scheduled publication date. If your article is received less than 15 days prior to its scheduled publication, it will be put on hold until the next posting date for a core blog article or until we find another appropriate publication date for a pre-approved article.  

For either a Series or Core Blog Article, remember that you have the option of submitting several blogs at a single time, each on a separate submission form, – you can even provide all articles at once to fulfill your commitment and ensure you don’t submit late and risk losing your publication spot for that month

Article length 

  • The required word count is between 750 – 2,500 words with the exception of Vlog Articles (please see the Vlog section below). 
  • Your article should be educational, inspirational, motivational, or informative. All Wellness Universe blogs must provide readers with compassion, education, support, and awareness. 
  • Your article is to be structured as such: Introduction, Content, and Conclusion. This structure proves professionalism and demonstrates importance, relevance, and authority on the subject matter. 
  • If you’re using ChatGPT to assist you in writing your article, please run your blog post through an AI checker like The Checker AI, a free app. WE PREFER YOUR  ORIGINAL CONTENT. Please use AI to assist your writing, not create the content for you.
  • Follow WU’s basic style guide: 
  1. No profanity 
  2. Numbers below 10 are to be spelled out (unless they’re in reference to ingredient quantities in a recipe), format recipes as you see them in a cookbook not as a running script 
  3. Use single spaces between words and sentences 
  4. Insert double line spaces between paragraphs 
  5. Bold subheads do not italicize them 
  6. Use the Oxford comma. An Oxford comma is the final comma is a series of three or more things, for example write “she bought bread, milk, and eggs.”

Vlog Article (short articles featuring a video) 

We accept videos posted to your YouTube or Vimeo that are no more than 10-minutes in length, created by you, and follows the guidelines regarding value-based content as stated above which applies to both the written and video content we publish. 

A brief introduction of at least three short paragraphs and a short concluding paragraph are required to accompany your video. 

Please ensure video permissions are set for public viewing before submitting your video and written article as 1 submission. 

Video Mentions 

If you mention or reference your contact information audibly or visually in your video, you must also mention you are a member of The Wellness Universe and that you can be found on TheWellnessUniverse.com. 

Article Title 

Your article title must be clear, concise, and compelling. It should never exceed 67 characters and should express a single idea or thought for example, do not write The Dog Days of Summer: How to Keep Hydrated either mention the dog days of summer or  how to keep hydrated, never both otherwise search engines will be confused and not know how to categorize your article; they may categorize the blog post in the summer category or in the hydration category. 

Links 

As a Premier/Select Member your article may contain two links. These can be your email sign-up, your website, Facebook Group, etc.. You may also include outbound links to reference materials.

Links to other published blogs authored by yourself on The Wellness Universe’s blog platform (inbound links) are valued as they increase search optimization.

Prior to submission, check that all links are viable and not broken

All links must be either applied directly to the text in the body of your article (preferred SEO tactic) or listed in a reference section below your article. 

Citing References 

Source links to scientific data, references, studies, etc. must be included. Please see the link section, for notation information. 

Images 

If you choose to submit graphics or images to accompany your blog in the body of the article, please provide The Wellness Universe with proof of authorization to use and publish the photos or graphics. 

Edit and Proofread Your Article 

  • You are required to submit a fully edited and proofread article. If your article is not properly edited, we will send it back for corrections. Popular editing apps for authors include Hemmingway App,ProWriting Aid, and Microsoft Word’s Editor (all are FREE). If you have repetitive words refer toRhymezoneand search “find synonyms,” this is another FREE site. If you’re not sure about the spelling or the meaning of a word, or prefer a different thesaurus, check theMerriam-Webster dictionary, again this is a FREE site. If you need a professional editor, contactLE Sabafor special rates exclusive to WU Members. 

Articles that are not properly edited and that do not adhere to The Wellness Universe’s basic requirements WILL be sent back for correction resulting in a missed publication date. 

IMPORTANT NOTE 

All articles are subject to approval and can take up to 30 days to be published. If you are submitting a Blog Series, ALL articles must be submitted at the same time, each one using a separate submission form. A Series is defined as a minimum of two (2) and up to a maximum of seven (7) articles surrounding one topic or theme that will post once a week, bi-weekly, or monthly.  

The Wellness Universe reserves the right to edit/alter all submissions at our discretion. Our blog is optimized for SEO during the publishing process, consequently your title, and content may be edited. Edits will not be significant and are made to ensure the most visibility and to create relevance for your article with search engines. 

The Wellness Universe may from time to time republish an article to our site(s) in whole or in part and may use excerpts from your article to create graphics and content for social media with credit to you.  

As the publisher of the blog we reserve the right to keep posts up or delete them. If you terminate or do not renew membership, we reserve the right to remove your articles.

III – ARTICLE SUBMISSION

IMPORTANT 

Files must be a Word Document. Please submit only ONE article per submission form. For example, if you are submitting two articles, you are required to fill out two separate submission forms; if you are submitting an approved series, each article must be submitted separately. 

NOTE 

Upon submission, your screen will give you a pop-up confirmation. If you do not see it, your article was not properly submitted. Please check that all questions were answered and that your blog post was uploaded as a Word document. 

Once we receive your submission, you will get an email confirmation within 72 business hours. If your article is denied, you will receive an email with further instructions.  

You’ll receive an email the day your article publishes with the link to your article on   https://www.blog.thewellnessuniverse.com/ 

Remember, supporting your article is essential. The day your article posts, you are required to support your content by sharing it and replying to comments on all sites where your article is published and promoted. Liking it on social media and commenting on the social media posts is essential. You WILL NOT receive notifications, so it is your responsibility to check all posts including your published article for comments.  

Please check back on your article often on the day of and the days following publication, as you will not receive automated notifications of comments left. 

We encourage you to regularly visit the Featured Blog section and support your fellow WU Authors. It is a great way to build relationships. Those who give support, get support. 

If you do not support your content, The Wellness Universe reserves the right to refuse future articles for publication.

How do I find my articles? Go to any article that you have authored which has been published and click your name. This takes you to your AUTHOR PROFILE and houses all of your published articles. Here is The Wellness Universe Author Profile for example.

How do I share my article? The day your article publishes we share it on Facebook, Linkedin and Instagram. You can easily share form our social media or go to your article and use the share button or copy and paste the url and share it with your communities.
