Lately, I have become even more aware of the mind's endless crafting of thought and stories. This insight was further fueled by a recent podcast by Catherine Ingram. What you are doing with your attention is giving you the experience in any given moment. This focus of attention and the energy behind combined with your thoughts is a story that you are telling yourself. And a lot of that story as I want and I don't like, or what if____? We can make things nightmarish when they are not, with the stories of the way things should have been, should be, or that they are not_____. Or, I want, I don't want, the obsession for outcomes, of life being a certain way. Instead, ask what if you gave up interest in the story and the rumination of it and chose to be present with the current experience and reality; being alive in your senses and experience of the moment. Nothing we experience is a steady state. All experiences do not last, they transition and transform. Yet we either try to prolong them or avoid them. Both strategies whether conscious or unconscious lead to pain and suffering for ourselves or others. The relief that we seek is in the letting go, the relaxation of following or fueling the story. Just let it fade into the background as you shift your awareness to the moment and it's experience and sensation. Be open to the possibilities and potential, to the flow of sensation, experience, and being... ; without judgements or expectations. When we explore the simple element of presence, we awaken to life in its fullest. Want to be mindful of your current experience and sensations with less story? I am offering an On-line Live NeuroYoga.Zone Mindfulness Class (6 weeks) 10/11/17 $45  Do you have stress in your life and would like to learn a skill that can be used lifelong to reduce it?  Are you curious about where your stress and patterns of stress come from?  Do you find harder and harder to focus due to the increasing every day distractions?  Do you find it difficult to concentrate and focus, or remember things?  Is your mind is FULL, and you find that it impedes your ability to present? Mindfulness is paying attention, on purpose, in the present moment, without judgment; in other words being self-aware. It sounds simple, but our brains resist it. Self-awareness scientists say is very healthy, but rarely achieved in today’s busy world full of digital distractions.  Mindfulness reduces your stress and can be used lifelong.  Mindfulness builds awareness of where your stress comes from and how to recognize your patterns of stress.  Mindfulness increases focus and reduces everyday distractions.  Mindfulness replaces a “mindFULL” and “mindfulness” experience with focused presence of mind Mindfulness has been reported to produce positive effects on physical and psychological well-being that extend into daily life. Mindfulness is mental state achieved by focusing one's awareness on the present moment and calmly acknowledging and accepting thoughts, feelings, and bodily sensations. It is simple to learn and is effective in enhancing well-being. If greater well-being isn’t enough of an incentive, scientists have discovered the benefits of mindfulness techniques help improve both physical and mental health. Evidence suggests that mindfulness can aid with:  Reducing negative thoughts and rumination  Reducing stress and anxiety, lowing depression risk among pregnant women and teens, and Improving sleep  Boosting your working memory  Reducing emotional reactivity  Increasing your ability to focus  Enhancing your cognitive flexibility  Increasing immune functioning  Lowering blood pressure  Alleviating gastrointestinal difficulties like IBS Info/Registration http://bit.ly/2wUtdRo Sharing is caring. Negative thoughts have dirty feet; don’t let even the least of them set foot in your mind. ― Matshona Dhliwayo Negative thoughts are the roots of anxiety and depression and get planted in our subconscious. Eliminate them as soon as they surface and evaluate where they come from and challenge them. If we believe our negative thoughts to be true without challenging them, we run the risk of storing them in our subconscious as our reality, whether they are true and real or not, and that can be threatening or dangerous to our well-being and the well-being of others. Serendipitously I received an email yesterday from SAND (Science and Nonduality) with a recording of Peter Russell's presentation on "Effortless Being" (something I experienced a lot at campGLP 2017). He opens the talk with a reference to the 50th anniversary of the summer of love (more serendipity or perhaps synchronicity, since that was the core theme for the camp this year). So I thought I would share https://youtu.be/igZpKJ-j3X0 Today, I choose to Be... as effortlessly as I can. NeuroNudge-EffortlessBeing

If you want peace of mind, stop fighting with your thoughts. Do not let the behavior of others destroy your inner peace. Never be in a hurry; do everything quietly and in a calm spirit. Do not lose your inner peace for anything whatsoever, even if your whole world seems upset. The only path to serenity. Serenity is not freedom from the storm, but peace amid the storm. The more tranquil a man becomes, the greater is his success, his influence, his power for good. Calmness of mind is one of the beautiful jewels of wisdom. #neuroyogazone #change #insight #yoga #meditation #mindfulness #mindfulnesscoach #meditationcoach #wellbeing #stress #stressreduction #growth #path #awareness #power #thoughts #human #humangrowth #people #self #journey #growth #peace #innerpiece #awakening #serenity #spirit #calm #mind #success #mind #wisdom NeuroNudge-SerenityPieceOfMind

We have all been there, this mindset can often popup for me in moments of challenge or change. Anytime you have self doubt or you are feeling uncertain, refer to the wisdom and insight from Sam Hunter ( a fellow Camp GLP 2017 attendee). Read and affirm until all doubt and hesitation wanes. Then wash rinse and repeat. repeat, repeat... YouGotThis

@rosi-goldsmith Encouraging your Parkinson’s patients to do mindfulness meditation and yoga is well grounded advise. Dr. Joe Dispenza has done some fascinating research on the relief of Parkinson’s symptoms with meditation. I participated in the 2017 Neuroscience Training Summit where he showed brain scans of before and after mediation with Parkinson’s patients. The results were astounding. The one case he focused on had reduced his symptoms by over 90% after a 30 day meditation regiment. Attached are the before and after scans. The red areas show the hyperactivity in the brain; which were reduced/eliminated after mediation, along with the physical symptoms (tremors etc...). Because of the plasticity of the brain, Dispenza asserts that this relief can be long term or permanent. Parkinson’s disease is characterized by a deficiency in dopamine in the brain. When there is not enough dopamine in the brain, the upper motor neurons can’t communicate with each other. When the upper motor neurons are not working together, people have involuntary tremors, they can’t control their body. There have been many studies on how Meditation increases dopamine. One such study is "Increased dopamine tone during meditation-induced change of consciousness." https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/11958969 Meditation can be a highly effective form of dopamine increase if done properly; which is not only of benefit to Parkinson’s patients, but for the rest of us as well. It's the feel good neurotransmitter 😉Parkinsons12

In school or in life, were you taught anything about your brain and how understanding its functions could help you? Were you taught how the brain can affect your health physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually? Were you taught anything about how to keep the brain healthy? - It weighs about three pounds - It has hundreds of thousand blood vessels - It contains more connections than there are stars in the Milky Way - It controls every level of our biology and our lives - It is the fattest organ in the body - It controls every level of our biology and our lives So, why not learn more about the most important part of our bodies and how to better utilize its amazing abilities? In this seminar, you will learn what the latest neuroscience revels about our brains and the brain/body connection, and how to improve the health of both. What if _____________...? WHAT IF? I was blessed to be among them. What if you started each day with as many "what ifs" you could muster?
