Namaste & Welcome!! My most beloved passion is to teach and learn Yoga and Vedanta. By some strange grace of providence I was chosen to live for 21 years in Varanasi, the holiest city of the Hindus, where I acquired my Ph.D. in Physics. Here is where lived Kabir, Tulsidas, Lahiri Mahasaya and, just 10 miles away, Sarnath where the Buddha chose to deliver his first sermon. No simple land this Varanasi – at every step a bull or cow that would, in its gentleness, tremblingly close its eyes when you reached out to pat its head, sadhus anointed in ash intoning Lord Shiva’s name as they walked the gallis (narrow streets) to the mighty Ganga, the distant sounds of ringing manjiras and drums – the air was always afloat with calls of the Infinite and Eternal. I will always be grateful for the seed that Varanasi sowed in me which today has bloomed as a passionate interest in Yoga and Vedanta.

In 1995 I met my yoga guru Dr. V.S Rao in Lowell, MA. That was a path breaking event in my life. Dr Rao was a benevolent and extremely knowledgeable teacher of yoga and the philosophy behind it. Today I spend a lot of my time teaching yoga in its traditional form. Later on I got intimately associated with the Chinmaya Mission, a world renowned Vedantic teaching institution at its Chinmaya Vrindavan ashram in Cranbury, NJ. Here I learned a lot of Vedanta under my guru Pujya Swami Shantananda an internationally known and very erudite teacher of Vedanta. I cannot say enough about how this association has transformed me internally. I also moderate Chinmaya study groups in Vedanta, the science of the Self. I have a large student base who always vouch for the effectiveness of these ancient teachings in helping to transform their lives. The popularity of these classes is a testimony to a deep rooted desire in each one of us to discover our true nature which we have forgotten in our mad race for material progress. Come with me on this beautiful journey which will open up a whole new world of self discovery. Om Shanti. May Peace be with you and may you discover the joy within.
