And not just attachment to particular outcomes, but attachment to outcomes happening in a particular way…

Life is not linear. Therefore, outcomes are not linear. How what you desire shows up, cannot be predicted.

Take the case of Ed Sheeran (a popular music artist for those who don’t know) when he was seeking to make it big in the music industry. He’d had a little success in the UK but hadn’t got a real foothold in the industry. He went on a trip to the US expecting to only perform a gig at a very small local venue.

That seemingly insignificant gig, led to a few more small gigs, that created a bit of a buzz.

At one of those subsequent gigs, Oscar-winning actor Jamie Foxx happened to be in the audience. Jamie was impressed and took Ed under his wing.

This gave Sheeran some clout in the industry and he subsequently signed to a label of his choice and his career blew up.

Ed said yes to every opportunity, paid and unpaid. He didn’t know the details of hw his success would show up, he just knew it would. He was not attached to the how. Nor should you be.

You have no idea how life will bring your desires to you. You’re just required to show up and keep on saying yes to it.
