There will always be more to do, goals to accomplish, ideals to rise to, visions to be made real … but in the midst of it all, for sanity and sanctity, we must carve out space and place to unwind, recharge and center in on what is of ultimate value and deep desire.

The importance of this cannot be underestimated. More and more studies tell us of the power of peace in countering stress, and extending not just quality but quantity of life. Let us take heed.

I know from over 20 years of committing to time in stillness and mindfulness training in my own life, that it can ignite ideas and the practical steps to achieve them, a rush of calm that heals and clarifies, and a warmth and tender love to comfort and cleanse even the most seemingly insurmountable troubles.

I invite you to bask in the glow within, to set aside time to dive into the strength and wisdom of you, to relish the serenity that flows when we commit to time with self. If each of us took moments to still and train our mind to calm, consciously choosing to make decisions from this place, to respond versus react, we would surely love more deeply and live more richly.
