Do Artificial Sweeteners Cause Inflammation?
For many years, I was “sold” that using artificial sweeteners was healthy. After all, they have zero calories, right? The truth of the matter is that artificial sweeteners are just that….artificial. You body doesn’t know what to do with them, so they get stored as fat! Did you ever notice that the sweet taste of artificial sweeteners triggers your brain that there’s nutrition on the way, but when your body finds none, keeps sending you signals to keep eating?
That’s one of the reasons why the answer to that question is YES! They absolutely do. When adopting a healthier eating lifestyle, it is really important to eliminate anything that is artificial, highly processed or full of chemicals.
Great sources of natural sweeteners would be coconut sugar, raw honey, pure maple syrup and Stevia.

Along with my own businesses, I work in a restaurant, and every time someone chooses a “diet” cola, it sends shivers down my spine…some of the customers are “getting” it, but cola in general is an awful thing to put in our bodies. Thank you for bringing more attention to it!
Exactly right @heathercorinnelang! I haven’t had a soda in forever! I have had clients tell me it’s the carbonation they crave, but that can be solved easily with sparkling water 🙂
Exactly! Add a drop or two of essential oil, and you have flavored sparkling water! 🙂
