Natural Solutions for Seasonal Allergies
Garlic, honey and turmeric all share similar health benefitting antibacterial, anti-fungal, antiviral and also cancer fighting properties, so this is like a triple strike! Plus lemon which delivers the vitamin C, which offers protection against immune system deficiencies.
Why bother with natural remedies for cold & flu symptoms, like this garlic honey syrup for sore throat for example, if you can take an antibiotic and get it over with?
Antimicrobial resistance is real. Viruses and bacteria mutate and adapt fast, and we don’t have enough effective drugs to fight them off. And this is really scary.
Don’t rely purely on engineered drugs. Be responsible, build up and support the strength your own immune system with natural ingredients like garlic, honey, lemon, ginger and turmeric.
GARLIC HONEY SYRUP FOR SORE THROAT RECIPE
Ingredients
3-4 fresh garlic cloves – crushed (not minced)
2 tablespoons powdered turmeric or two inch, crushed piece of fresh turmeric
⅓ teaspoon ground black pepper or Black Pepper EO 1 drop
½ cup raw honey (I prefer manuka honey)
One Drop of Lemon Essential Oil (pure, therapeutic grade)Instructions
Place honey, lemon juice, ground black pepper and (powdered) turmeric in a small bowl and, using a spoon, mix until well combined.Now add your crushed garlic cloves (and the fresh turmeric, if you chose to use it instead of the powdered one). Mix again and let it rest and come together for about 10 minutes.
Notes
-You can eat raw turmeric with no worries, but avoid eating more than ½ – 1 small garlic clove per day as raw garlic consumed in larger quantities on a daily basis can be too harsh for your stomach and make you feel sick.
-Take 2-3 tablespoons of the syrup per day.
-Replace garlic cloves daily to maximise its effectiveness.
-Store this syrup refrigerated for 4-5 days.*Do not give raw honey to children under 1 to avoid the risk of infant botulism.
